ADvice for writing an effective classified ad.
- Begin your ad with the item for sale or the service you offer.
- Dont be vague. Use key words to describe. State the condition, age, features, etc. of the item for sale.
- Spell it out. Use abbreviations sparingly - they often confuse and frustrate readers.
- State the price. Most readers wont respond to an ad with no price. Giving prices serves to weed out potential buyers not in your price range.
- Remember the basics. Be sure to include a phone number and/or address. State the best time to call.
- Use bold print or a border to attract attention to your ad.
