ADvice for writing an effective classified ad.

• Begin your ad with the item for sale or the service you offer.
  
  
• Don’t be vague. Use key words to describe. State the condition, age, features, etc. of the item for sale.
  
  
• Spell it out. Use abbreviations sparingly - they often confuse and frustrate readers.
  
  
• State the price. Most readers won’t respond to an ad with no price. Giving prices serves to “weed out” potential buyers not in your price range.
  
  
• Remember the basics. Be sure to include a phone number and/or address. State the best time to call.
  
  
• Use bold print or a border to attract attention to your ad.
